North
Central Ecuador, including SEQM (SEQU) and SEIB
Landclass, road, river, lake,
and airport upgrades for North Central Ecuador
for FSX
File Name:
North_Central_Ecuador_v2.zip
Author: Carlyle Sharpe
Date of Release: June 25, 2015
Version: 2.00
Version 2 of this scenery includes all previous patches/updates and includes an
alternate option which works seamlessly with the roads/rivers added by FTX
Global/Vector. It also includes minor visual updates as well as the ILS
for runway 18. Building upon Menno Robert's original SEQM (for the new Mariscal Sucre Intl) as a starting point, this
project grew into a complete airport and landclass upgrade for the area. (An SEQU encoded version of SEQM is also included to allow AI traffic to begin using the new airport immediately.) The new imagery corrects the position of the airport and implements the airport's slight tilt to the west. Almost every element has shifted from its original location to match its real-world location: the main terminal is rebuilt, buildings are added, gates are resized to the satellite image, and gate assignments are made at the jetways to allow the smaller planes access to those gates when the large planes are not present. The parking lot and service areas also receive a facelift, and a new airport background, as well as a custom polygon, follows and preserves the contour of the original plateau.
Roads now connect the airport to the main highway, default roads (with traffic),
rivers and lakes are corrected
within roughly 100 square miles, and a new Ibarra/Atahualpa (SEIB) airport, as
well as the addition of corrected city textures, is included.
Default lake elevations and shapes are corrected, and startup files are included
to fly from the lakes and the Ibarra/Atahualpa (SEIB) airport. Scenery was created using Airport Design Editor X
v1.61.5298, SBuilderX
3.13, and
the FSX Object Placement Tool. Scenery objects were added and modified from stock FSX scenery to resemble as closely as possible the actual
airport.
INSTALLATION
Remove any previous installation folders of this scenery. They are "FSX_SEQM_&_SEIB_CS" and "FSX_SEQM_(as_SEQU)_&_SEIB_CS". Extract the "North_Central_Ecuador_v2.zip" file. Place either the new "FSX_SEQM_(as_SEQU)_&_SEIB_CS" or the "FSX_SEQM_&_SEIB_CS" folder in your "Addon Scenery" folder. Start FSX and add and activate one of the new folders through the "Settings - Scenery Library - Add Area..." menus.
ALL
users:
Open the "FSX_SEQM_(as_SEQU)_&_SEIB_CS" or the "FSX_SEQM_&_SEIB_CS" folder
and place all files in the "Place in Scenery-World-Scenery"
folder as indicated in the readme text.
*Special note for users using the option of SEQM coded as SEQU "FSX_SEQM_(as_SEQU)_&_SEIB_CS":
1) Open the "FSX_SEQM_(as_SEQU)_&_SEIB_CS" folder and place all files in the "Place in Scenery-World-Scenery"
folder as indicated in the readme text. This allows the "new" location of SEQU to reflect the proper elevation.
2) If using Ultimate Traffic 2 for the new SEQM coded as SEQU, make sure the "distance to spawn ground aircraft" is set to no less than 10nm. The old SEQU radius is hard-coded into FSX , and aircraft will not appear with a smaller radius.
3) The progressive taxi feature is inconsistent when using the SEQU coding for the new
location of SEQM. (It functions normally for the SEQM coding, as FSX sees it as an entirely new airport). The progressive taxi inconsistency using
the SEQU coding is most likely due to the fact that FSX cannot fully resolve the change in location from the old location of SEQU to the new location. Despite this small issue, all ground
operations still function normally.
4) The old airport has now been removed, as it has been replaced by a park in
real life. I exchanged the coding
for SEQM and SEQU in this option for the airport. The new airport will appear as SEQU, and the
location of the old
airport will appear as SEQM. This will allow all AI Traffic
currently coded for SEQU to begin operations at the new airport immediately.
*Special note for FTX Global/Vector users:
To enable the version that will fit best with FTX Global/Vector, simply
enable "CVX_Ecuador-North_Central_FTXG-Vector.BGL" by removing the
".OFF" extension from the file, and add the ".OFF" extension
to "CVX_Ecuador-North_Central_FSX_default.BGL". DO NOT leave
both files active simultaneously.
