Navigation

You will take off from Cold Bay and fly to Unalaska Airport. A VFR flight plan is loaded into the GPS and on your kneeboard. The auto pilot is set to follow this planned route. At the start of the mission, follow the planned course.

Communications

Communications will be automatic and will give you clues to mission objectives. You will be Beech N350KA. Other aircraft in your area are a Beech Barron using 22B. You will be communicating with the companies dispatcher.

Suggestions

Be familiar with the operation of the Beech King Air.

The conditions will be right for ice, so understand the procedure for flying in these conditions.

When taxiing, leaving the runway or taxiway in this mission may cause mission failure. If the engines take in any foreign debris (FOD), the engines will be damaged!

It may be good to know how to perform short field landings and takeoff.

Know how to use the GPS to make GPS-E approaches.
