OH-58D Kiowa Warrior – Zemunik AFB Presentation – Croatia HDOfficial media presentation of the first five (11 left to be delivered) Kiowa Warriors delivered to the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence at Zemunik 93rd Air Force Base. The presentation was attended by the President of Croatia and the Supreme Commander of the Croatian Armed Forces Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, the US Ambassador to Croatia, H.E. Julieta Valls Noyes, and other high dignitaries.
First five helicopters, three simulators, weapons and other equipment were delivered to Zemunik in late July 2016 on board the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy. The rest should be delivered before 2017.
Kiowa Warrior helicopters for Croatia were manufactured in the period from 2010 to 2012 and entered operational service from 2012 to 2015. They feature a standard weapons set, optical boresight system, communication and navigation equipment and live ammunition like the 12.7 mm machine gun, Hydra 70 rockets and AGM-114 Hellfire missiles.
Kiowa Warrior being a reconnaissance-battle heli, it could be a great asset in civilian operations such as search and rescue.
