FSX – A-26 Invader Lady Liberty
FSX – A-26 Invader Lady Liberty. On of the most aesthetically pleasing aircraft of the Second World War was the Douglas A-26 Invader, created as a replacement for the aging A-20 Havoc. The Commemorative Air Force flies one of the best examples of this design – the Lady Liberty, an A-26B-20-DL, ser. no. 41-39230. Their A-26 is the oldest flying Invader remaining. It was the 130th airframe produced, delivered on August 18, 1944, and assigned to the 9th Air Force. Earlier in its career with CAF, the Lady Liberty was flown with the glass nose of an A-26-C. This texture represents that plane, since the base package already has an all-black metal-nosed A-26-B, the Spirit of Waco.
