X-Plane 10 – Scenery Fearn Airfield (Scotland) 1.1. Welcome to the little known Fearn Airfield. Situated 35 km north-northeast of Inverness in the far North of Scotland, Fearn has a fascinating past and in its time has also been known as Balintore Airfield, RAF Fearn, RNAS Fearn and also HMS Owl. Sadly this airfield is no longer in use, however with the help of WED, OpenSceneryX and the People Library by AXDG a little life has been breathed back into this picturesque corner of Scotland. Thanks to the creators of the previously mentioned software for making all this possible and a special thanks to Chris Noe for kindly generating the cross of St Andrew. By Stuart McGregor.
