Sébastien Remy appointed Head of EADS Innovation Works
Sébastien Remy, 52, has been appointed Head of Innovation Works, effective 1 June 2013. In his new role he will lead the Group’s network of research centres with a highly skilled workforce of more than 800 employees worldwide. Sébastien will report directly to Jean Botti, EADS Chief Technical Officer. His office will be located at the EADS Innovation Works site in Munich.
“Sébastien’s key mission will be to foster and continue the strong innovation culture we have within EADS. Together with his team, Sébastien will be operating the laboratories that guarantee EADS’ technical innovation potential with a focus on the long-term. I wish him all the best for his new challenge,” said Jean Botti.
In 2009, Sébastien was nominated Head of Airbus’ Engineering Centre of Competence dealing with propulsion systems, auxiliary power units and aircraft noise, with teams in Madrid, Toulouse and Hamburg.
In 2007, Sébastien created the Airbus Alternative Fuels Advisory Group, became Head of Alternative Fuels Research Programmes and initiated the activities that led to the A380 flight with alternative fuel in February 2008, a world premiere.
Sébastien started his career in 1984 at MBDA in Paris, where he worked on missile flight tests. He moved to Toulouse in 1986 to join in developing the A320, taking care of the CFM engine performance. He held several positions within the Airbus propulsion community, mainly involved in A320, A330 and A340 developments and certifications. Sébastien graduated from the French engineering School “Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace” in Toulouse in 1984.
