Safi Airways Receives IATA Membership

 Safi Airways, the privately owned international scheduled airline of Afghanistan, has officially been accredited with full IATA membership.  The airline also successfully went through IATA’s stringent Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) earlier this year.

Hamid Safi, CEO, stated he and the team is looking forward to the benefits of joining the association.  As an IATA member, Safi’s main objective will be to enhance and build current and future relationships and partner with other IATA airlines and industry providers to carry Safi forward on its continual expansion plans. 

Safi Airways currently operates a modern fleet of Airbus A320’s as well as Boeing 757 & 767.  The airline flies, from its Kabul base, to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Delhi, Dubai and Herat.  Safi, in the past six months, has also entered into code-share agreements with Etihad Airways and Gulf Air.

Safi Airways has just announced, effective, 1st December 2012 they will commence operations from Kabul to Tehran.
