KLM Celebrates 93rd Birthday

Each year KLM celebrates its birthday with revealing a brand new KLM Delft Blue house. On the occasion of its 93rd anniversary we added the SieboldHuis to our collection. The first one was presented to the mayor of Leiden – where the SieboldHuis is located.

The Director of the SieboldHuis also received the new Delft Blue miniature. The 93rd house is a representation of a museum at the Rapenburg in Leiden, where objects collected in Japan by Philipp Franz von Siebold between 1823 and 1829 are displayed.

The SieboldHuis contributes to the exceptional and longstanding relationship between Japan and the Netherlands.

KLM Business Class

All Business Class passengers on intercontinental KLM flights receive a Delft Blue house on board. The now famous miniatures are replicas of real houses and are avidly collected and exchanged.
