Orlando International Becomes First and Only Florida Airport to Welcome Mexico’s Volaris Air
“This new service is an important part of our continued efforts to attract new international carriers to the Orlando area. Welcoming Volaris to Orlando International also brings a potential for $14.7 million in yearly economic impact to the region. As the only airport in the state to offer Volaris air service to Mexico, our overall international travel numbers, which are up over 12.5 percent so far this year, should remain strong”, says Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
Volaris will fly initially from Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport to Orlando International Airport two days-a-week.
In 2011, a record 3.5 million international visitors used Orlando International Airport as their gateway to the world.
