The objective of this Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) is to establish the framework within which the Parties will cooperate in delivering a Curriculum for aviation professionals, with competency-based courses in aviation disciplines. A Curriculum may include programmes and courses as well as Joint Training Programmes, Workshops, Conferences and Seminars, fully consistent with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) where applicable. Furthermore, various training methods will be used, such as but not limited to classroom instruction, on the-job training (OJT) and e learning to create a flexible delivery platform that supports knowledge and skills acquisition and application.
Christos Petrou, Chief Executive Officer of MATI-FSF/South East Europe-Middle East Cyprus (FSF-SEC), stated: “This is an important moment for aviation in the region. The complexities of aviation and the constant need to maintain safety and efficiency, necessitate continuous training for everybody involved in the air transport sector. Furthermore there is need to harmonise training between Europe and the adjacent regions. I am confident that the new Training Centre in Cyprus will satisfy these needs.”
“We are happy to liaise with MATI/FSF-SEC and offer the required training to ensure continued aviation safety. Additionally, the Cyprus location will attract professionals from all over the world, creating networking possibilities and the exchange of experience. The latter are important aspects of the total training package.” says Joost Jonker, JAA TO Director.
The first courses are scheduled in Larnaca, Cyprus as of June 2012.
