World Duty Free Group has opened a completely refurbished walk through store, as part of the extensive redevelopment that has taken place at Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA). With 5,288ft² of retail space, the new tax and duty free shop reflects the travel retailer’s commitment to delivering an outstanding product choice that offers year round value to its customers.

World Duty Free Group worked closely with the airport to develop the best retail solution and the result is a larger store that is more accessible and easy for the customer to navigate.

Beauty now occupies fifty per cent more space in the new store, featuring strong customisations and extended product ranges from classic brands such as Chanel, Lancôme, Estee Lauder and Dior. New brands have also been introduced including skincare brand Biotherm and Molton Brown.

Fragrance is a key part of the product offer and World Duty Free Group is introducing several new brands to the Leeds Bradford store, which meet customer demand for more premium perfumes. Examples include the Tom Ford fragrances, Cavalli and Balenciaga.

Commenting on the new store, Fred Creighton, Retail Director World Duty Free Group said, “We have worked in close partnership with Leeds Bradford Airport to create a store which delivers the best retail experience to its customers. Beauty – such a key category in travel retail – is really showcased at its best in the new store. As a result of the increased space, we have been able to introduce beauty stations where customers can enjoy consultations, makeovers and treatments – all of which make their time in our store more involving and engaging. We anticipate seeing great results from this new World Duty Free store”.

Richard Aldridge, Commercial Performance Manager for Leeds Bradford Airport added, “World Duty Free now includes everything our passengers would want and expect from their pre-flight retail choice with a much wider range of famous brands at competitive prices.”

Further within the store, customers will discover the luxury area, which features new brands such as the popular Pandora jewellery and strong personalisations for brands such as Swatch. New watch brands include Hugo Boss and Citizen.

Finally for confectionery and liquor, premiumisation is the story once again, with the ranging of more high value whiskies and premium vodkas and a bigger presence for Godiva chocolates and Fortnum & Mason products.
