airberlin: New “YourFare” fare structure

Effective immediately, all bookings for airberlin flights departing from 1 July 2012 will be made in accordance with a new fare structure. “We are a people’s airline and therefore need to have competitive fares to suit every target group” said Hartmut Mehdorn, CEO airberlin, at a press conference in Berlin on Tuesday. CCO Paul Gregorowitsch added: “It’s for this reason that we have now introduced our new “YourFare” fare structure, which will allow passengers to select the best fare for their individual needs in future.”

The new fare structure offers customers a choice of three different types of fare. airberlin’s new “JustFly” fare is particularly attractive to price-sensitive passengers. As the airline’s lowest priced fare, it includes the fewest additional services. “With this fare, we are specifically targeting new passengers flying on routes that are already very competitive. “JustFly” will, however, not be available on all routes and at all times. In accordance with the “Fare Rules”, a minimum night stay will apply and it should also be noted that the fare is offered for round trips only” explained Gregorowitsch.

“FlyClassic” corresponds to the airline’s current Saver fare. Additional services that are important to passengers, such as being able to make changes to a booking (for a charge), seat reservations and a free baggage allowance, will remain unchanged. “FlyFlex” is a product primarily for business travellers and is aimed at passengers requiring the high level of flexibility and comfort.

The new fares are available immediately for flights departing from 1 July 2012. Further information about the new fare structure can be found online at airberlin.com/yourfare.
