Airlines Offer To Assist Dept Of Transport To Rectify Security Audit Failures To Speed Up ResolutionAirlines Offer To Assist Dept Of Transport To Rectify Security Audit Failures To Speed Up Resolution
The airlines made the offer to the D.O.T. after it was confirmed to them that all aircraft departing Dublin Airport will now be subject to additional security checks on arrival at destination airports for up to 2 months, running into the busy summer peak travel period.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said
“The Irish airlines still don’t know what specific security audit failures occurred at Dublin Airport but we’ve offered to help the DOT speed up addressing these audit issues by providing additional security auditors to the D.O.T in order to reduce the flight and passenger disruption from two months to hopefully as little as two weeks.
The airlines are awaiting the D.O.T.’s response to this offer, which we expect today or tomorrow.”
