WestJet reports record January load factor
“We are very happy with this strong start to 2012 and the new record January load factor. Our capacity increases are being nicely absorbed and the healthy demand for air travel has continued into the new year,” said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky. “I thank WestJetters for their high level of engagement and ongoing contributions to the profitable growth of our airline.”
On January 17, 2012, WestJet and Delta Air Lines launched a new code-share agreement. “We’ve had an interline relationship with Delta since early 2011 and are very happy to have them as our fifth code-share partner,” said Gregg Saretsky. “As this relationship matures, we look forward to welcoming even more Delta passengers on board WestJet flights and sharing our remarkable guest experience with them.”
WestJet recently released its summer schedule which includes new service to Whitehorse, Yukon, and two sun destinations – Aruba and Kingston, Jamaica. The airline also announced that it will launch service between Toronto and New York’s LaGuardia Airport starting June 4, 2012. WestJet guests travelling to LaGuardia will arrive into Delta’s main connection area and be able to connect with this new code-share partner’s extensive U.S. network without additional security screening.
