FSX Scenery–The Carrabba Mountain House

FSX Scenery–The Carrabba Mountain House. 53 year old school teacher Mary Carrabba built this hut in 1977 in only two months, showing a remarkable decisiveness and resolve, coupled to fantasy and creativity! The original is near her home town of Spokane on an idyllic mountain slope. Which is why she called the two stories building, that she designed and built for the larger part all by herself, ‘Berghuette’. Right after having planned building it, the enthusiastic Carraberra took to action. Without much carpenter experience but with lots of ‘book knowledge’ she built the entire hut without using electric power tools, all by hand. The Carraberra hut is built pretty much like the Swiss mountain huts. It was found in a long forgotten book ‘Kleine Haeuser – Geschichten, Skizzen, Bauplaene’ by Lester Walker and it was decided to build a copy of it for FSX. The model can now be found in the Tongass Fjords X area, near Wrangell. Tongass Fjords X is a prerequisite. By Jo Stein. 1,9 Mb
