FS2004 SAAF Kittyhawk Mk.IV #5082, 11 OTU SAAF 1944 WWII (textures only). The Curtiss Kittyhawk was used extensively in WWII during the desert campaign in North Africa by the Commonwealth air forces. Among these Commonwealth air forces was the South African Air Force or SAAF. This Kityhawk Mk.IV is painted in A-Flight 11 Operational Training Unit colors based at Waterkloof 1944. This aircraft is believed to be one of two aircraft wo which the “sharks’s mouth” paint scheme was applied for an airshow at Waterkloof. This was as a tribute to the campaign in the Western Desert, where these markings were characteristic of Commonwealth Kittyhawks. Textures only. Model by K. Malinowski and J. McDaniel. Also includes many screen shots and a real drawing of the repaint so you can get a good perspective of how it looks. Repaint by Morne Pieters.
